About Rocky Mountain Sports Counseling Center
Rocky Mountain Sports Counseling Center was founded with the vision of supporting athletes through mental health challenges, injuries, and the transition out of sport. Over the past 10 years, that vision has expanded to create a space where athletes can not only address their mental health but also explore and strengthen their identity both within and beyond athletics.
As awareness of athletes’ mental health needs has grown, so has the scope of support required. Today, our work reflects the evolving landscape of sport, with specialized areas including mental health support, identity development, collegiate recruiting, transfer portal decision-making, coaching and team dynamics, grief and loss, and transitions into life after sport.
Our passion for working with athletes has deepened as we have witnessed the impact of providing a space for reflection, growth, and change. We help athletes recognize and apply the transferable skills developed through sport while encouraging them to envision meaningful paths beyond their athletic careers. This passion motivates us each day to walk alongside athletes as they discover and embrace their full potential—both in sport and in life beyond it.

Supporting Athletes’ Mental Health
Many athletes feel isolated when they struggle with mental health challenges. They may question whether they should seek help or believe they are the only one experiencing these difficulties. In reality, athletes across all sports face similar pressures, and support can make a meaningful difference.
Counseling provides a safe space for athletes to process these experiences and develop tools to move forward with greater confidence and clarity. Sessions at Rocky Mountain Sports Counseling Center are confidential, and the therapeutic relationship remains between the counselor and the athlete—there is no back channel to coaches, trainers, or family members.
Through this work, athletes often discover they are not alone and can grow both within sport and beyond it
